Won't Take Long Lyrics
Words and music by Mitch McVicker and Brad Layher

Well my home is far away,
But it won't take long to get there
Yeah my home is far away,
But it won't take long to arrive
My home is far away,
But it won't take long to get there
So I will walk, Yes I will run, until I fly
And it won't take long
Won't take long

Well the sea is deep and blue
And the tide goes up and down,
Oh the sea is deep and blue
And the moon pulls its chain
Yeah the sea is deep and blue
And the tide goes up and down,
So it goes, so it stays,
So the shores are simply changed

And the night is so black
And the sky is so big
But the stars show their faces
Though they look still
They are twirling, they are swirling,
They are whirling ...

And my home is far away
But it won't take long to get there
My home is far away,
But it won't take long to arrive
My homes so far away,
But it won't take long to get there
So I will walk, I will run, until I fly
And it won't take
It won't take long

No it won't take long
No it won't take long

From Mitch:
I wrote this song with my good friend Brad Layher, who also happens to play music with me. We were driving from New York to Tennessee and we were overwhelmed with how long it was going to take to get home. Brad was practicing the mandola while I was driving and so I stuck a melody and a few lyrics over the chord progression he was playing. Then, that got us thinking about how our true home can seem so far away, but it wouldn't take that long to get there.

Psalm 23( background vocals of this psalm are spoken by brad on this song)

On The song It Won't Take Long.. who came up with the idea to do psalm 23 in the background?  It's very effective.

Mitch:  I just thought the psalm 23 thing worked well with the song.  Mark thought so as well, so we did it.  Brad did a great job with it.
