Rachel was key in getting this interview done, so I had to ask her how she meet this guy!
Her story is just fantastic!

Rachel: We actually went to the same college--Mississippi College.  He was a senior when I was a Freshman--and since we went to a small Christian college they wouldn't let us have sororities or fraternities--but we had "social clubs".

Each girls "social club" had one guy from each class elected as a "beau" of the club and each guys club had a girl elected as a "sweetheart" of the club.   Well, Joe was the "senior beau" for our club so I meet him through rush stuff briefly.  We ran in different circles as do most Freshman and Seniors.

Then he moved to Chicago to play with This Train.  My senior year in college I was working with some concert tours and I had to come to Nashville for GMA week.  I saw Joe in the lobby of the hotel and we talked for a little while and for the first time I went and saw This Train play.  He was still living in Chicago at this time.

Then the following year I moved to Nashville to work. One night I was out with some of my friends listening to a band play here in Nashville and I looked over and I saw Joe, Mark, and Jordan.  So I went over and we talked for a long time.  He asked if I wanted to hang out with them--so I did.

I found out that they had recently moved to Nashville as well. Then Joe called the next day and wanted me to come hear a band with him and Mark's brother, Kevin.  So I did....then we started casually dating for a few months.  He went on tour for a couple of weeks at the time---and kinda just slowed down for a few months.

A few months passed by and we saw each other out listening to another band one night (and I was on a horrible date) and he asked me if we could talk in the back and then he said--that he had never meet anyone like me, he didn't care if I freaked out or not out the whole "relationship" thing---but not a day went by he didn't wonder what I was doing or where I was---and like most girls would--I just melted right there and from then on we have been dating pretty serious.

A few words about Joe--Of course I am biased--but he is the best guy inside in out I have ever met in my life.  He has the BIGGEST heart---he loves people and loves drumming. All of this to say that I think Joe will be an asset to Mitch's ministry.  The two have already been through so much together.  There is a great friendship that can only grow stronger.  I know God is going to use the Brad, Joe and Mitch's music to do some amazing things in hearts all across the US!   ~ Rachel ~

I was very pleasantly surprised with the generous responses given on this interview.
Thanks Joe and Rachel for taking the time between flights to get to it.
