Emmanuel
Lyrics
Words and music by Mitch McVicker

At the middle of my soul
A battle goes on and on
Yeah things come and go
With a different verse
But It's the same old song
And evil has got strong arms
Oh but Your love has got me by the heart

Chorus
You are right here with us
I guess that's why Your called Emmanuel
Yeah, You are right here with us
When I look around I can tell

And You can change the heart
And now something shines like gold
Out of the darkness in my soul
And I sparkle when I live my life
Like I know
That You are right here with us
When I look around
You are there
Your are in the air

The air I breath
The air I breath

You are here with us
Your Emmanuel
Ah, Ah, Ah

Yeah, You are right here with us
I guess that's why Your called Emmanuel
You are right here with us
When I look around I can tell
Oh when I look around I can tell
That Your Emmanuel
Oh Your Emmanuel

From Mitch:
I wrote this song a few years ago with the premise in mind that God is closer than we realize and God is more of a reality than the back of our hand. I then rewrote a lot of the lyrics a couple of years later as I sat in my van along the side of the road in Illinois. I wanted to make the song more of a personal cry of the heart that each one of us can confidently proclaim out of our weakness.
